Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

A few months ago I got the Pottery Barn spring magazine in the mail! I always enjoy sitting down and looking through it- dreaming, studying, planning, a little bit of drooling. I probably look at it 3-4 times cover to cover. I love their look, the way they combine color, texture, and depth in their designs. Their prices are pretty high but things go on sale, I find a similiar look for less, I save up chase points and cash them in for gift cards, and I check out ebay, downeast, etc. I saw these really cute bookends shaped like apples and immediately fell in love with them. They remind me of Washington- our hometowns, we grew up next door to apple orchards. I was bummed when I saw the price tag of $59.00 and realistically knew I couldn't pay that much for bookends. I basically wrote them off and forgot about them. Then, during President's Weekend I was looking online at their new sales items and found the same bookends on sale for $19.99! Hurray- I shouted! Even though Brandon and I didn't get each other gifts for Valentines Day this year I decided to order them anyway as a gift for the both of us...ok, this is a stretch... a gift for me, but I told him it was for him and we could both enjoy it!
Valentines Day!
This year we went to a fabulous Valentines Day Dinner and Dance at Thanksgiving Point! The place was decorated exquisitely and felt very romantic. Fresh flowers, candles, great food, and a live jazz band set the mood and made for a very enjoyable evening! We attended the party with a few of Brandon's co-workers and we all had a blast! When we walked in escorts took us to our reserved table and checked our coats. Dinner was served next- incredible very similar to the food they serve in their Harvest restaurant. The jazz band was playing the entire night with some great soloists. Placed neatly next to the tissue paper flowers were coupons for every couple to make a trip to the candy bar, which had tons of yummy goodies, and a coupon for a photo booth! This was totally fun and a little goofy (check out our pictures)! Brandon had surprised me at work the day earlier with a beautiful bouquet of flowers- thanks babe for an amazing night!

Fishing In Style
Who says you can't be stylish and fish at the same time! I found these cute rubber boots at TJ Max for our deep sea fishing trip to Alaska this summer! Part of the attire needed are rubber boots so your feet don't get soaked. I figured as long as I'm up to my elbows in fish I might as well do it in style!

I'm so ready for warm weather!
I was browsing through pictures the other day and found some from our honeymoon in Cancun. It was a great trip! I love soaking up the sun, feeling the ocean breeze in my hair, and the smell the ocean. I love the beach! My ideal vacation includes three things- sun, ocean, and Brandon! It may be almost a year away but I am so counting the days until Maui this December- I'll be counting down a while! In the mean time I'm redecorating the guest room to feel like a beach cottage with soft colors and textures. I just ordered a cool beach print to hang on one of the walls. I'll post pictures when I finish!
